The schedule of work is a document that contains the detail of any construction project with a clear and accurate description of the works that are proposed and is generally used to allow the contractor to price against. It is very rarely used as a document in isolation except for very small works and is more commonly bound with a full specification. A specification comprises the Preliminaries, generally containing details of the contract terms and the general project requirements including programme, etc., the Schedule of Works describes the works in detail and the Materials & Workmanship section describes the minimum acceptable products and standards. The specification is usually accompanied by detailed construction drawings and other schedules (door and window for example).
