We have a dedicated disability team, who are experienced in undertaking building surveys and suitability assessments of residential properties requiring adaption to accommodate a disabled person. A suitability assessment identifies concerns and limitations with a property. Each suitability assessment is based upon the disabled person’s needs, which dictates the alterations that are required to the property. For example, if a disabled person is wheelchair reliant then door openings to the property are likely to require widening. The suitability assessment will identify whether these alterations are feasible.
We offer a full range of architectural services for adapting and extending residential properties to accommodate a disabled person. We can prepare a range of outline proposals based upon the care report, accommodation report and Case Manager / Occupational Therapists guidance to enable for the design to be finalised.
