End-to-end consultancy and surveying for multiple SEND sites
Across the UK
Based in Tiverton, Devon, Phoenix Learning & Care Group provides specialist SEND (special educational needs and disabilities) and ALN (additional learning needs) education for children and young adults with SEMH (social, emotional and mental health needs), autism and learning difficulties.
The group operates residential and educational facilities across the UK, with every team committed to supporting each individual with inclusion, compassion and understanding. As a long-term client, they trust us to help create safe, supportive environments where individuals can thrive.
Our partnership began several years ago with a pre-acquisition survey for a nursery in North Bristol. The group hoped to convert the site into a SEND junior school and needed clarity on the building’s condition, suitability, potential constraints and likely adaptation costs.
We carried out a highly detailed, needs-led assessment – from accessibility and room layout to the smallest considerations such as light switch locations.
After delivering the first project on time and on budget, we went on to provide the same end-to-end service across seven more sites.”
The bespoke report gave the group the insight they needed, and, impressed by both our survey and the standard of service, they then appointed us to manage the full project – from design, planning and drawings to submissions, tenders and quality control, overseeing building standards, budgets and schedules.
After delivering the first project on time and on budget, we went on to provide the same end-to-end service across seven more sites. Conversions have included former offices, residential properties and even a yoga studio – all transformed into specialist settings for exceptional care and education.
Our expertise in developing dedicated special needs environments extends beyond the education sector. We also deliver disability adaptation and accessibility projects for individual clients, legal representatives, occupational therapists and social landlords, designing homes that remove barriers and enhance quality of life.
