Internal FIre Safety

Easton Bevins is highly experienced in inspecting internal fire safety and project managing remedial works for residential apartments and offices.

As a member of RICS, our qualified surveyors can ensure that all works are planned and carried out to the approved standards.

Our Surveying and Litigation departments have worked for leaseholders, management companies, legal representatives, property developers and homeowners.

Internal Compartmentation Surveys

When residential flats are built, there are certain standards that the internal walls must achieve. Whether it's a compartment wall separating two apartments that must maintain a 60-minute fire integrity, or a lobby or hallway wall that must offer 30-minute fire protection.

With 'Stay Put' evacuation policies, it is vital that the compartmentation of the building should provide adequate fire protection. Unfortunately, over time the fire integrity of internal walls can be undermined and maintenance, for example, electrical wiring, can cause a number of penetrations to the walls.

We inspect all internal walls and conduct compartmentation surveys to check that the internal walls comply with the guidelines and that, in the event of a fire, they'll contain the fire for as long as they should.

We then provide a full report describing the condition and, if necessary, a list of recommendations to be carried out to comply with the guidelines. Our project management department are also well experienced in overseeing remediation works should any repairs be necessary.

We're also able to inspect the condition of internal fire doors separately or as part of the compartmentation survey.
