Ben is responsible for leading Easton Bevins, shaping the strategic direction of the practice and supporting its continued growth and development.

Ben is involved in a wide range of projects across the practice, combining strategic leadership with extensive hands-on experience in building surveying and property consultancy. His areas of expertise include fire safety, project management, comprehensive building surveys, dilapidations and Party Wall matters, including compliance and dispute resolution.

Working across multiple sectors, Ben provides surveys, contract administration, site supervision and commercial advice for landlords, tenants, and other clients. He regularly prepares detailed schedules of works and specifications, helping clients deliver well-managed projects and optimise the long-term performance of their assets.

Ben’s commercial awareness and practical approach support the successful delivery of complex projects across the practice, enabling him to provide clear, pragmatic advice while maintaining the high professional standards expected of Easton Bevins.

Ben O’Brien - CV

Ben has extensive experience across the construction and property sectors, working with private individuals, landlords, tenants and commercial organisations on a wide range of surveying and consultancy assignments. His professional background includes time with national construction companies, giving him a strong understanding of both the technical and commercial aspects of property development, refurbishment and asset management.

Throughout his career, Ben has been involved in all stages of the construction and property lifecycle, from initial inspections and feasibility advice through to project delivery and ongoing property management. His work regularly includes building surveys, condition assessments, funding applications, preparation of specifications and schedules of works, property management advice and contract administration for refurbishment and improvement projects.

Ben has particular expertise in fire safety, undertaking surveys and audits and advising clients on remedial works and compliance strategies. He also provides dilapidations advice, preparing schedules for Section 20 work and supporting negotiations to achieve practical and commercially balanced outcomes.

Alongside this work, Ben acts as Party Wall Surveyor on a range of residential and commercial developments, advising clients on compliance with the Party Wall etc Act, and assisting with dispute avoidance and resolution where required. His experience also includes refurbishment and repair work to historic and listed buildings, where careful planning and technical understanding are essential to protect the character and integrity of the property.
